IN ENGLISH
Angels with gorgeous locks
When you hold a bunch of pale, long and shiny locks in your hand, you just cannot help thinking of angel hair. The locks on the photos above come from Klövsjö sheep (left) and Gotland sheep (right). I just had to make some angels with these gorgeous locks.
I made a couple of different bodies with wings from aluminium wire. The heads are wet-felted balls, that I could needle-felt the ”angel hair” on. Then I just had to fasten the heads to the bodies and a add a hook, made out of wire, to be able to hang the angels. I think they will look great on the Christmas tree, or hanging in windows. And I do think that the locks are shown off nicely in these angels, in all their simplicity.
Beautiful angels. You’re right, the locks are perfect for these. Very creative.
Thanks Marilyn! Sometimes simple can be really beautiful, especially when you have a really nice raw material. 🙂
You’ve certianly proved that. 🙂 I noticed there are ads popping up on the site. Were you aware of that. I’ve never seen them on your site before.
There have always been some ads on my blog – in exchange for not having to pay anything to keep this blog on WordPress. But I recently got accepted into WordAds, which means I can potentially get an earning from my blog. I don’t expect to get much though. I would have to write much more often, and probably about something more controversial than felting, to increase the number of views to significant levels.
Ahh, that makes sense. We pay in the FFF to avoids the ads. But we have four us of to offset it.
Brilliant idea carried out beautifully as usual! The locks would be great for Santa’s hair and beard too 🙂
Thanks Zed! 😊 And yes, these locks are great for Santa/gnome beards too. I have made a couple of those too. 😉
Those locks look amazing on the angels! I received some gorgeous kid mohair fleece from a friend and all I can think of when I look at it is, ”this would make great doll hair” 🙂
Jepp, some locks tell you what they want to be. 😉
